Yubi Barrios
Russell Montessori Educational Services was founded and is run by Yubi Barrios. She is certified by AMS (American Montessori Society). She has many years of experience as a Montessori Teacher in the Portland area. Yubi began her career as a Montessori assistant teacher and fell in love with the philosophy and the child - centered approach. She received her Montessori Teaching Credential in 2014. Yubi is originally from Cuba, graduated as Veterinarian Technician in 2001. She also had experience teaching adults in her natal country.
Yubi loves working with Infants ,Toddlers and Preeschoolers and enjoys bringing the Spanish Language to the classroom on a daily basis. She loves the mix of cultures in Portland and its natural beauty, she also enjoys Yoga, cooking, art projects and spending time with her daughter Suset and her husband.
Diana Guillermo
Diana Guillermo moved from Mexico to Oregon 13 years Ago. She graduated from Mt. Hood Community College in 2019 with an AAS in Child Development & Early Education. Spanish being her first language, Diana wanted to work at a place that includes her native language, since then she has been working with children.
While studying at Mt. Hood, Diana discovered who Maria Montessori was and her approach to children’s growth & development. She wanted to work in a center where children are able to learn through first hand experiences and be able to include that in their daily routines.
Diana enjoys spending time with her sister & mom, watching movies and walking around downtown Portland. Her favorite color is purple and favorite food is her mom's homemade cooking.
Francisca Marcelo
My name is Francisca Marcelo, I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I was raised in Portland, Oregon. I worked at a facility home for the elder for some time and had a lovely time. I knew something was missing and that's when I decided to find a place where I can grow as a caregiver. I started working at RMES knowing I can learn more about working with children, and not only be able to help them but my nephew as well. I love spending time with my family, going to the gym, running outdoors and going on hikes.
